Kathryn Shelton
Certified Pilates Instructor

Kathryn Shelton's teaching style is solidly rooted in the classical Pilates method, but it

is ever changing to fit the needs of her students in each lesson that she gives. Her creativity keeps her sessions fresh and her knowledge keeps her classes safe and effective for all.

After graduating from the University of Michigan, Kathryn began her Pilates training with Barbara Huttner.  Huttner is a 2nd generation master teacher trainer who received her education from Pilates elder Ron Fletcher and who also studied with Pilates elders Eve Gentry, Bruce King, and Kathy Grant. After a two-year training and apprenticeship completed in 2001, Kathryn was awarded her Pilates certification through the PhysicalMind Institute.

An avid athlete herself, Kathryn spent much of her career working with the professional ski and snowboard community in Vail, CO keeping them strong and injury free. She also has extensive experience working with pre and postnatal clients as well as seniors who want to maintain or achieve more strength and youthful flexibility.  Further, Kathryn has developed Pilates classes with a special focus on breath and core work to enhance the performances of  vocalists and musicians, and has helped many people with debilitating diseases, injuries, and limitations gain core strength, flexibility, and serenity through teaching the Pilates method.
